EC warns of action against anyone publishing poll-related fake info on social media
The Election Commission (EC) has warned of action against those publishing false information, propaganda and content that are against the poll code of conduct on social media during the local elections.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said strict action would be taken against those who posted election-related fake content on social media.
Cabinet decides to appoint AIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh as new IGP
The Government of Nepal has promoted Additional Inspector General of Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh to the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP).
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday made the decision to this effect.
Ruling alliance to take action against cadres violating directives
The five-party ruling coalition has decided to move ahead in the spirit of the electoral alliance even in places where rebel candidates have not withdrawn their candidacies.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the coalition’s internal preparation and monitoring mechanism for the local election.
Local election: Five-party coalition emphasizes economic development
The ruling five-party alliance has engrossed on May 13 local level election, focusing on ensuring people’s partnership for socioeconomic development of the country.
The five parties in their election manifesto stressed on practically reaching ‘Singha Durbar’, the centre of authority and power, to each village along with maximum mobilization of local levels.
Ballot papers remain to be sent to 17 districts only
Ballot papers for this May 13 local level election remain to be dispatched to only 17 districts so far.
The ballot papers would be transported to Sindhuli, Ramechhap and Dolakha districts in the morning of May 2 while those for the remaining districts would be dispatched within this week.
Raju Aryal appointed APF Inspector General
Raju Aryal has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of Armed Police Force (APF).
A cabinet meeting held Sunday appointed Aryal to the top post of APF as he was the sole claimant for the post.
