Quilt-manufacturing industry catches fire in Rupandehi



KATHMANDU: A fire has broken out at a quilt-manufacturing industry in Sainamina Municipality of Rupandehi.

The fire broke out at Vismilla Sirak Dasna Udyog in Murgia Bazaar on Friday night.

According to the Area Police Office, Ranyaura, all the items were destroyed by the fire and efforts to douse it were underway.

Police suspect the fire may have started due to an electrical short. The exact number of casualties has not been ascertained as of now, police said.

Earlier in the afternoon, fires also broke out in two shops at Yogikuti in Rupandehi, causing a loss of Rs 20 million.
