Fire destroys property worth Rs 12.5 million



SIMIKOT: A fire destroyed a grocery shop and a hotel at Yalwang, Namkha Rural Municipality-4, in the northern belt of the district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office, Humla, Krishna Ojha shared that the inferno had completely destroyed a two-room house.

Tshering Paljor Tamang of ward-4 had been running a hotel and grocery shop from the house. Yalwang Police Post informed that physical property worth amounting to Rs 12.5 million was destroyed when the fire ravaged the house along with a wooden hut.

Police guessed that the fire outbreak was caused due to short circuit.

Tamang has been operating the shop and hotel business at Yalwang since long.

DSP Ojha further said the fire had also destroyed all goods including foodstuffs, clothes and utensils inside the house.
