Nepal sees 5,583 new coronavirus cases, 9 deaths in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 5,583 new cases of coronavirus and nine deaths in the past 24 hours as of Tuesday.

Of the confirmed cases today, 3,657 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 1,926 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 1,404 cases in Kathmandu, 195 in Bhaktapur and 308 cases in Lalitpur, taking the Valley’s total to 1,907 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there were nine coronavirus-related deaths have been added to the COVID-19 death tally in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,752 to date.

Currently, there are 74,653 active cases in the country as 8,267 infected patients recovered.
