DAO distributes warm clothes, food to poor families in Solu



SOLUKHUMBU: The District Administration Office (DAO) has distributed warm clothes and food to the poor families suffering from severe cold at Tingla village of Dudhkunda Municipality-11.

The DAO provided a fiber quilt and 30 kg of rice each to 25 households at Tingla.

The cost for this would be borne from the district disaster fund.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Bikram Shahi informed that the assistance was provided as per the plan of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and the Home secretary.

Other households suffering from the cold in the district would be identified and provided such assistance, the DOA said, hoping that it would be a huge relief to the poor family.

Meanwhile, receiving the assistance, local Chhatra Bahadur Bhujel said the assistance was a huge relief to the people like him, who run family with daily wage braving biting cold.

Similarly, another Hira Bishwokarma shared the happiness that the relief materials saved his money spent to buy the rice.

He would now utilize it for children’s education. After receiving the assistance, Sharada Bhujel said, “Now, there won’t be problem of food for some months to me. The warm quilt helps me brave the cold night.”

She heartily thanked the providers. The upper belt of Solukhumbu district witnesses severe cold in the winter.
