NPC team takes stock of under-construction projects in Darchula



DARCHULA: A team comprising the Vice-Chair of the National Planning Commission (NPC) has held an interaction with the stakeholders on ongoing development works in the district. The interaction was attended by people’s representatives, chief of government offices, security chiefs, civil society members, and media.

NPC Vice-Chair Bishwo Poudel-led team, including NC central member Nainsing Mahar and others, arrived here to take stock of the ongoing development projects in the nine districts of Sudurpachim Province at the directive of Prime Minister Sher Bahdur Deuba.

NC leader Harek Bista informed that the discussion was held on the development projects, plan, and spending of budget sent by the central government, among others.

On the occasion, NC district president Lalit Singh Bohara, mayor Hansaraj Bhatta, chair of Duhu Rural Municipality Pulendra Bahadur Karki and chief of district coordination committee, Karbir Bahadur Karki briefed the team about the development works as Mahakali highway, Darchula-Tinkar roadway, Bitule- Parigade roadway, Mahakali embankment, Api Nampa conservation area and Gokuleshwor airport.

It was demanded to increase the budget for these works.

The team also had a field inspection of the ongoing Mahakali highway and Darchula-Tinkar roadway.
