Maoist Center Standing Committee meeting underway at convention site

SC to finalize names for central committee



KATHMANDU: Saturday’s closed session of CPN-Maoist Cente’s 8th General Convention has mandated party’s Standing Committee to propose names of central members and office bearers.

Saturday morning’s closed session under the Eighth National General Convention of the Maoist Center has been postponed till Standing Committee picks name for central members and office-bearers.

According to sources, the Standing Committee meeting is undergoing at Pragya Pratisthan.

The leaders also discussed about the party statute and selection of the central committee in the Standing Committee meeting in the closed session of the convention this morning.

The Central Committee will elect the office bearers as per the legislation passed by today’s closed session. The Maoist Center has made arrangements for a 299-member central committee, including 15 office bearers.

Today is the seventh day of the general convention.

The closed session passed party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s political dossier this morning.
