Thick fog in the Terai obstructs visibility

LAHAN: Visibility has decreased in the Terai airport due to thick fog and low visibility.

The Tribhuvan Highway has been obstructed due to dense cold waves at Simbhanjyang.

As a result, vehicles heading to Kathmandu from Hetauda and vice versa have been stuck midway, said Inspector Shree Ram Timalsina.

Earlier, the highway that was obstructed due to snowfall resumed on Thursday evening. Transportation will reopen when the weather condition is good, he said.

The visibility in the airports of the Terai has decreased significantly.

According to the Weather Forecast Division, the visibility at Simara and Bhairahawa airports has shrunk to 100 meters.

Similarly, Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj airports have only 500 meters of visibility. The visibility is 600 meters in Biratnagar and only 800 meters in Janakpur.

However, it is estimated that the fog and mist will clear in the afternoon.
