UML SC meet postponed till Sunday at request of leaders of Nepal faction

Oli faction not to wait for senior leader Nepal if party unity cannot be finalized by Sunday



KATHMANDU: The UML Standing Committee (SC) meeting called at 3 pm Saturday has been put off till Sunday at the request of leaders of the disgruntled faction.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had called a SC meeting on Saturday, stating that the party could not remain a prisoner of indecision.

Earlier, leaders representing Oli faction and Madhav Kumar Nepal faction held discussions to finalize party unity. Stating that they strived for unity, leaders of Nepal faction had requested Chairman Oli to postpone Saturday’s SC meeting to hold discussions with senior leader Nepal.

UML SC member Bishnu Rimal said Chair Oli put off the meeting till 3 pm Sunday in view of requests made by leaders of Nepal faction. Though the SC meeting convened, it was dismissed without entering the agenda Saturday.

UML leaders are of the view that they could not wait for senior leader Nepal if party unity cannot be finalized by Sunday afternoon.
