Two women arrested for engaging girls in sexual activities



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two women on the charge of luring young women in search of work and engaging them in prostitution in Damak of Jhapa district.

According to the Area Police Office, Damak, the women were arrested for renting a house at Sabjimandi in Ward No. 6 of Damak and engaging in immoral activities.

Among the arrested are Nandita Sawa Limbu, 38, of Morang Pathari Shanischare-4 and Urmila Nemwang, 38, of Chulachuli Rural municipality-4, Ilam.

Police had rescued eight victims from the house a few days ago. During the post-rescue investigation, the girls between the age of 17-39, said that they were tempted to engage in sexual activities.

“It has been found that young women were sent by contacting customers and making money by engaging in sexual activities,” said Nawaraj Karki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Area Police Office, Damak.

It has been revealed that the women earned money by paying a less amount of money to the young women.

Police have handed over the girls to their relatives. Karki said that an investigation has been initiated by registering a case of human trafficking against the perpetrators.
