Nepal-Khanal faction withdraws no confidence motion filed against CM Poudel

KATHMANDU: The Nepal-Khanal group has withdrawn a no-confidence motion filed against Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh Dormani Poudel.

Out of 22 lawmakers, only a few lawmakers of the disgruntled faction were yet to return their names until Tuesday evening, said Province Assembly Secretary Krishna Hari Khadka.

The remaining lawmakers are withdrawing their names by today, said Khadka. However, 23 lawmakers of the CPN (Maoist Center) in the Province Assembly have not withdrawn their names.

On December 25, as many as 45 lawmakers – 22 from UML and 23 Maoist Center – had lodged a no confidence motion against CM Poudel.
