PM Oli shed crocodile tears for ex-Maoist fighters: Pun

ARGHAKHANCHI: Standing Committee member of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal Barshaman Pun ‘Ananta’ has remarked that Prime Minister KP Oli has shed ‘crocodile tears’ for former Maoist fighters.

Pun claimed that PM Oli and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ had earlier neglected the voice of former fighters and are now shedding ‘crocodile tears’ to rope them in the faction.

Leader Pun accused Home Minister Badal of snatching away allowance of those injured during the ‘people’s war’.

Former Minister Pun further said that those now in the Oli faction had filed a case at the apex when he, while serving as Finance Minister in Baburam Bhattarai-led government, had announced a relief package of Rs 200,000 for ex-combatants.

Stating that Prime Minister Oli had disregarded the will of the people by dissolving the Parliament, he expressed his confidence that the court would reinstate it.
