783 inmates at Central Jail receive COVID jabs



KATHMANDU: A total of 783 inmates at the Sundhara-based Central Jail have been vaccinated against the coronavirus on Saturday under the first phase of vaccination.

As per the decision of the Ministry of Health and Population, vaccination has also been started for the inmates and those in the old age home.

There is a plan to vaccinate the inmates, staff, and security personnel of the prison, said Parvati Bista, COVID-19 Management Focal Person at the Health Office, Kathmandu.

A total of 64,422 people across the country had been vaccinated against the coronavirus as of Saturday, according to the Ministry.
