UML elects seven secretaries from party’s 10th Gen Convention

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has elected seven secretaries from the party’s 10th general convention held in Chitwan.

Gokarna Bista, Yogesh Bhattarai, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Padma Aryal, Lekhraj Bhatt, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Raghuvir Mahaseth have been elected as secretaries of the UML, as per the recently completed vote count in Sauraha.

Secretary Bista got the highest number of votes (1,976) received by the secretary candidate. Likewise, Bhattarai got 1,964 votes while Bishwakarma and Aryal bagged 1,800 votes each.

Similarly, Bhatta got 1,704 votes, Rayamajhi received 1,700 votes and Mahaseth got 1,513 votes. All the secretaries securing the posts were also nominated by UML KP Oli.

Rebel candidates for the post of UML secretary Bhim Acharya and Tank Karki have been defeated.

However, the UML Election Committee is yet to officially announce the results.
