HoR was dissolved to reverse the change: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the dissolution of the House of Representatives was a conspiracy to reverse the agenda of change established by the Maoists struggle.

Stating that the parliament was dissolved as per the strategy of eliminating the Maoists, he said the regression, however, was defeated. Dahal said that the anti-constitutional activities were defeated.

At the 22nd National Conference of the party-affiliated ANNFSU (Revolutionary) Thursday, he said that he had to resort to a revolt as the party formed with his involvement was being diverted towards the wrong direction, and to do away with the rights of the people. The party cadres have not deteriorated but there is a problem with the leaders at the top, Dahal said, expressing the determination to move forward with a new resolution free from the wrong practices of the past.

The former Prime Minister said the dream of the martyrs was yet to be fully realized even though the political rights were achieved on the basis of the sacrifices made for the rights of the Nepali people. He also pointed out the need for a fully proportional electoral system as the real people’s representatives could not be elected through the current system.

Prachanda expressed the determination to ensure representation of 20 percent youth in the party’s central committee. He said he was ready hand over the party to those who come with a policy and program to take the party forward on a new basis.

On the occasion, ANNFSU (Revolutionary) faction in-charge Hitman Shakya directed members to make the Union number one students’ organization.
