Kathmandu DAO issues new order in view of approaching festivals

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has issued a new coronavirus-related directive to curb virus cases in view of the approaching festivals in the city.

The directive that will come into force from Thursday midnight urged people not to get out of homes unnecessarily, not to assembly, organize rallies and hold festivities in a grand manner, among others.

The directive signed by Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer Govinda Prasad Rijal has tightened several previously granted freedoms and would be in effect until the DAO issues next notice.

Similarly, people are instructed to observe the approaching festivals in a symbolic manner as practicable as possible in line with safety protocols.
