Garbage in Kathmandu Valley will be managed soon: Mayor Shakya

KATHMANDU: Mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Bidya Sundar Shakya has said that the garbage of the Kathmandu Valley will be managed soon.

Talking to journalists after conducting a field visit to the under-construction Sanitary Landfill Site and Sisdole Landfill Site, Mayor Shakya said the garbage of the KTM will be managed soon.

The garbage has been piled up in the Kathmandu Valley for the last few days after the way to Sisdole Landfill Site has been disrupted due to a landside induced by incessant rains.

“The way to Sisdole landfill site has been disrupted by a landslide. Hence, we have not been able to manage the garbage for the last few days,” said Shakya.

He said that the Kathmandu metropolis is rendering its efforts to manage garbage in coordination with the government.
