Hundreds of Valley-bound vehicles stranded as landslide blocks road at Nagdhunga

KATHMANDU: Nagdhunga check point, the main entry point to the Kathmandu Valley, has been disrupted due to a landslide since early morning.

The road section was disrupted after the landslide occurred at Chisapani area near Nagdhunga at 5:30 am today, said police.

Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded near Nagdhunga following the landslide induced by the incessant rain.
The road section had also been disrupted from early Sunday morning to 1 pm due to the landslide.

The road section which was brought into operation by removing debris yesterday has been halted yet again few hours after it resumed operations.

Meanwhile, an excavator has been deployed to the incident site to remove the landslide, said police.
