Three JSP lawmakers lose seat in Lumbini PA



KATHMANDU: Three lawmakers of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) in Lumbini Province have lost their seats in the Provincial Assembly (PA).

Secretary Durlab Kumar Pun at Lumbini PA Secretariat issued a notice Friday stating that Santosh Kumar Pandey, Bijay Bahadur Yadav and Kalpana Pandey have been dismissed from the post of lawmaker. All three were ministers in Lumbini Province government led by Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel.

The JSP expelled them the party and notified the PA Secretariat on Thursday. The party had sought explanation from them for disobeying party whip on June 30.

Four JSP lawmakers had joined the Lumbini government against the party decision to stay in opposition.

Among them, PA member Suman Sharma Rayamajhi had resigned and expressed commitment to abide by the party directives, therefore no action was initiated against Rayamajhi.
