COVID-19 impact: 75 districts under prohibitory orders

KATHMANDU: 75 out of 77 districts are currently under prohibitory orders imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, two districts – Manang and — Khotang have not enforced prohibitory orders as of today.

The ministry said that Banke was the first district to enforce prohibitory orders on April 26.

Meanwhile, the prohibitory order in Surkhet district has been extended by more 10 days.

As per the new adjustment, the prohibitory order imposed in the district one month ago following the second wave of COVID-19 will end on June 8.

A decision in this regard was taken as per suggestion provided by the district COVID-19 management committee, said Chief District Officer Chhabi Lal Rijal.

So far, the district has recorded over 10,000 infection cases with 2,401 active cases as of Friday, according to the Public Health Service Office.
