Humla to be linked to national highway



HUMLA: Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla is finally being linked to the national highway.

This will happen in the coming fiscal year, according to the budget estimates presented by Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.

Of the 77 district headquarters of the country, only Simikot is yet to be linked to the national highway.

The pledge to change this reality features in every fiscal year budget though it has not yet been realized.

The budget estimates also include the construction of a trekking route in Simikot as well as in the lower Dolpa area.

Likewise, construction of a dry port will begin in Yari of Namkha rural municipality.

The federal government has also allocated a budget for the construction of an access road in the Hilsa region.

The budget also features funds to be allocated for the operation of maternity and neonatal care services in the district hospital.
