Actress Karki appeals government to spend for vaccine rather than election



KATHMANDU: Tuning with social workers and civil society leaders, Actress Priyanka Karki has appealed to the government to prioritize vaccine rather than election as people are dying of pandemic.

Writing on social media on Saturday, Actress Karki urged the government to be serious about the pandemic that has been turning deadly of late.

“Understand the priorities of the present time and situation,” she wrote, adding “Spend 40 billion on oxygen cylinders, ICU wards, ventilators, healthcare systems, and free vaccinations.”

She said that people would be happy getting vaccines at such times.

“People will be happy if this priority is considered,” she wrote ahead, “ If there are people, there will be country, and when there are both, we can go for election, can’t we?

Priyanka Karki, who has been making headlines for her recent pregnancy photo shoot and related statements, has also expressed grief, like other cine artists, over the pandemic situation.
