JSP’s “majority members” agree to bring no-confidence motion against PM Oli

KATHMANDU: A majority of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) lawmakers have decided to bring a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister KP Oli.

Among the 32 lawmakers in the House of Representatives, 18 lawmakers have decided to go against the PM Oli-led government.

A party source said that members close to the faction led by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Upendra Yadav have signed the document.

The letter bearing the signatures of the lawmakers has been sent to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The party is still divided on the issue of joining the government. The faction led by Mahanta Thakur and Rajendra Mahato is yet to come up with a clear stance on supporting Deuba to table the no-confidence motion against PM Oli.
