KATHMANDU: Delhi Capitals has climbed the top second position of the points table by defeating Kolkata by seven wickets in a cricket match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday.
Held in Ahmedabad on Thursday, Delhi reached the 155-run target in 16.3 overs at the cost of three wickets.
Delhi’s Prithvi Shaw made the highest 82 runs including 11 fours and three sixes off 41 balls. Similarly, Shikhar Dhawan hit 46 runs followed by Rishabh Pant with 16 runs.
In reply, Kolkata’s Pat Cummins grabbed three wickets of Delhi.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Kolkata notched up 154 runs in 20 overs, losing six wickets.
Kolkata’s Andre Russell made the highest 45 runs and remained unbeaten followed by Shubman Gill with 43 runs while Rahul Tripathi made 19 runs.
In reply, Delhi’s Akshar Patel and Lalit Yadav took 2 wickets each. With this win, Delhi has notched up 10 points from seven games.
Similarly, Kolkata is in the fifth position with four points from seven games.
