We have the guts to take action against Oli by summoning Parliament: Prachanda

DHANGADHI: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has said that they have the guts to take action against Prime Minister KP Oli from Parliament.

Speaking at a protest assembly staged by his faction in Kailali on Saturday, Prachanda stressed that they have remained silent only because the issue related to the dissolution of the House of Representatives is under consideration at the Supreme Court.

Prachanda said that they would have convened a meeting of the Parliament and taken action against Oli if the case was not sub-judice at the apex court.

Stating that two-thirds of lawmakers including his faction, Nepali Congress (NC), and Janata Samajwadi Party were against Oli’s ‘regression’, Prachanda said that the House of Representatives could not be dissolved due to Oli’s ‘craziness’.

He said Parliament has the right to take action against Oli, removing him from the post of prime minister.

Prachanda also said that he was confident that the apex court would decide the case ‘correctly’.

Stating that trampling on the constitution by Oli is also trampling on the sovereign rights of the people, Prachanda remarked that the Prime Minister is an example of a dictator.
