Chairman of Civil Group Ichchha Raj sent to jail for trial



KATHMANDU: Chairman of Civil Group Ichchha Raj Tamang has been sent to jail for trial.

A district court in Kathmandu remanded Tamang in custody on charges of fraud and organized crime.

Chairman of the Civil Cooperative Keshav Lal Shrestha, who was arrested along with him, has also been jailed.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested 12 people including Tamang and Shrestha in the Civil Cooperatives fraud case.

A case was filed against them demanding Rs 5.63 billion.

A bench of Justice Rajkumar Koirala ordered to send Tamang and Shrestha to jail.

The other nine were released on bail and one was released on a date.
