Five-member task-force formed to prepare preliminary list of new leadership

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) has formed a five-member task-force to work out on the new central committee of the party.

The task-force has been entrusted with the responsibility to prepare a preliminary list of the central body to be represented in line with the inclusive cluster.

A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the party held on Tuesday formed the task-force comprising SC member Dev Gurung, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Janardan Sharma, Leelamani Pokharel and Shakti Basnet.

The task-force has been given the deadline Wednesday evening to prepare the preliminary list of the new leadership.

Even though there is clear provision regarding the percentage of the representation of women, Dalit, Muslim, there is no clarity on the percentage of Adivasi-Janajati.

The task-force will deal with this issue, said a Maoist Center leader.

If the political dossier presented by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda is endorsed today, the process of electing the new central committee will start from Thursday.
