 Westerly low-pressure system causing rain across country, snowfall in highlands

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted light to moderate rain in some parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley.

Light rain is occurring in the Kathmandu Valley since early morning today.

There is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in some parts of the hilly and mountainous regions of the country with chances of light rain in some parts of the hilly areas of the country, according to the Division.

Light to moderate rain is expected in most parts of the country and light snowfall in high hilly and mountainous areas at night. There is thick fog in the hilly areas and in some parts of the Terai.

Meanwhile, the Division has urged one and all to take necessary safety and precaution to avoid cold as the mercury is plummeting across the country.

Currently, the country is under the influence of westerly low-pressure system.
