Chair Lohani backs Lingden to lead RPP

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani has backed party’s General Secretary Rajendra Lingden in the party’s leadership race in course of the party’s unity general convention.

The unity general convention of the RPP is scheduled to begin from December 1.

While leader Lingden announced his candidacy for RPP chair last week, another Chair Kamal Thapa declared his re-run for leadership in the capital Monday.

Chair Lohani said his support would be for Lingden, arguing that the existing chairmen should not opt for re-run and instead handover the leadership to the younger generation.

Chair Lohani is set to formally back Lingden at a program to be held in Kathmandu Tuesday.
