Nepal Rugby Association President Ghising appointed NSC Member Secretary

KATHMANDU: President of the Nepal Rugby Association Tanka Lal Ghising has been appointed as the member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC).

A cabinet meeting held Monday decided to appoint Ghising to the post of NSC member secretary.

Former Member Secretary Ramesh Silwal was dismissed after the ruling coalition led by NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba came to power.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports had formed a committee to recommend the name of the new member secretary. The committee had recommended the names of Ghising, Achutam Lamichhane and Mamata Shrestha for the post of member secretary from among 18 applicants for the post. Of the three names proposed, the cabinet decided to appoint Ghising to the post.

Ghising is also a member of the Bagmati Provincial Secretariat Committee of the CPN-Maoist Center.
