Province 1 CM Acharya defies UML chair Oli’s directive

Refuses to pick the minister list given by Chairman

KATHMANDU: Province 1 Chief Minister Bhim Acharya has disobeyed the directive given by party Chairman KP Oli to make his ‘men’ ministers in Province 1.

According to sources, UML Chairman Oli had directed CM Acharya to make provincial lawmaker Tulsi Neupane a minister in the provincial cabinet.

However, CM Acharya, who welcomed two lawmakers of Nepal-Khanal faction in the party on Friday, refused to make Neupane a minister.

Neupane hails from Sankhuwasabha and had been in the Nepal-Khanal faction of the party till January.

Sources claim that CM Acharya refused to swear in Neupane citing his disloyalty to him.

However, the refusal to appoint the person picked by Chairman Oli is likely to create further difficulties to CM Acharya whose government has been staggering from the fear the newly formed CPN-Unified Socialist lawmakers can vote against him.
