PM Deuba, Prachanda and Madhav Nepal discuss cabinet expansion

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal met to discuss cabinet expansion Sunday morning.

According to Prachanda’s Secretariat, the talks focused on giving a full shape to the cabinet.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Deuba has yet to give a full shape to the cabinet even after one and a half months in the government.

The PM Deuba-led cabinet has currently only two ministers from the Nepali Congress, including one minister of state, and two ministers from the Maoist Center.

While the Nepal-led Unified Socialist Party has already hinted at joining the government, the Rastriya Janamorcha has stated that it would not join the government.

Meanwhile, the Janata Samajbadi Party has also expressed its willingness to join the government.
