Govt organizes Republic Day official program at Army Headquarters



KATHMANDU: The government has organized Republic Day’s official programs at the Nepal Army Headquarters in Bhadrakali.

Against the backdrop of political instability and fears that the Nepal Army may be active, a formal Republic Day program has been organized at the Army Headquarters this time.

The program was organized at the assembly hall of the Army Headquarters in Bhadrakali on Saturday. President Bidyadevi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli among otheres were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Republic Day program used to be organized at Sainik Manch, Tundikhel.

According to sources, the program has been organized at the meeting hall of the Army Headquarters at the request of the Home Ministry.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had requested the Nepal Army to provide a meeting hall on Saturday saying that the program could not be held at Tundikhel due to rain.

President Bidyadevi Bhandari on Wednesday had decided to release 430 prisoners on the occasion of the Republic Day.
