Three Nations Cup 2021: Nepal lifts trophy with 2-1 against Bangladesh

KATHMANDU:  Nepal defeated Bangladesh 2-1 to lift the title of Three Nations Cup 2021 held at Dashrath Stadium, Tripureshwor Monday.

Nepal took a 2-0 lead against Bangladesh in the first half of the final match of the Three Nations Cup 2021 in Kathmandu.

In the final match played between two South Asian nations, Bishal Rai scored in the 41st minute and Sanjog Rai in the 18th minute to give Nepal a 2-0 lead against Bangladesh in the first half.

However, the match became more exciting when Bangladesh scored 1 goal in the second half.

Nepal has lifted the trophy after 37 years. Today’s match started at 5:30 pm.

Senior dignitaries, including Prime Minister KP Oli, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali also watched the game at the stadium.

Having won their first match, Bangladesh secured their place in the final after Nepal drew against Kyrgyzstan Olympic Team. Nepal earned two points from two matches while Kyrgyzstan had one from two.

Nepal held plenty of possession but could not find a goal against a much-changed Bangladeshi side.
