Constituent Assembly member dies in Lalitpur



KATHMANDU: Constituent Assembly member Laxmi Devi Bhandari has passed away at the age of 71 in Kathmandu Monday.

Originally from Janakpur sub-metropolis in Dhanusha, she has died in the course of treatment at Mediciti Hospital, in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur.

Bhandari was elected to the Constituent Assembly (CA) from the Nepali Congress (NC) under proportional representation electoral system during the CA election in 2013.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed condolence to the bereaved family members. He remembered the role she played in the party and for the country during the People’s movement in 2007.
