Advocates scuffle at Supreme Court

KATHMANDU: Two advocates have clashed inside the Supreme Court premises over a transaction dispute on Monday.

Advocate Kiran Joshi and Pramod Gupta had a scuffle in the court premises this afternoon over a personal transaction.

According to sources, the two had a scuffle at the gate of the Supreme Court and the Nepal Bar Association.

It has been revealed that Gupta took Rs. 100,000 from Joshi five years ago, but was reluctant to pay back.  When advocate Joshi demanded money frequently, the two had a falling out. Joshi has sustained injury on his mouth.

“He had asked money saying he needed for his daughter’s education. I lent him as a good friend,” Joshi said, adding, “He has been avoiding me these days; when I met him here and asked for the money he assaulted me.”

Advocate Joshi has reached the police after the incident.
