Worldlink to build datacenters in all provinces

KATHMANDU: The growth of Internet traffic worldwide is increasing at an unprecedented pace putting pressure on the Internet infrastructure and worsening user experience and internet speed.

For better Internet experience therefore, there is a need of having servers locally, to store the content as near as possible to the users.
Nepal is also witnessing exponential growth in internet traffic with robust growth in the use of digital services.

Further, the government has also announced Digital Nepal as their marquee game-changer project, hence there will now be a massive need for infrastructure, network, and technology development.

The government and private sector organizations have to quickly adapt onto advanced digital technologies and move to cloud services at a higher pace than anticipated earlier. To meet this requirement, it is the need of the hour to have a secure and reliable international standard datacenter facilities within Nepal.

Following the government’s footsteps to build Digital Nepal, Worldlink, the largest internet service provider of Nepal, announces to build IDC (Internet Data Centers) in 14 major towns of Nepal ensuring at least one Data Center in every province.

Out of the proposed 14 Data Centers, the Kathmandu datacenter will be the largest and internationally accredited, Tier 3 certified world-class Datacenter. Remaining Data centers will be medium and smaller in sizes and will be Tier 2 certified.

All the Data centers will be with carrier neutral facility, meaning this facility will not only facilitate WorldLink’s infrastructure but will also facilitate other ISPs, Telecoms, government and private organizations for the entire Nepal ICT infrastructure.

Over the next 3yrs WorldLink is going to invest around 300Crs to build these Data centers.

Our motive is to give quality internet service to our customers and help in building a Digital Nepal.

With these DC facilities everyone will get internet content faster, cheaper and in a more reliable mode. Even the government and private organizations will find a very secure and reliable world-class facility to host their digital content and cloud infrastructure.

WorldLink will be closely working with NTA, NEA and Government of Nepal to build this DC that is going to become a critical national infrastructure for digital Nepal.
