18 players called for closed camp for T20 cricket series against Qatar

KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has summoned 18 players for closed-door training for the T20 cricket series against Qatar.

Captain Gyanendra Malla, former captain Paras Khadka, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sharad Veswakar, and Basanta Regmi have been left out.

The national cricket governing body has called young players who have shown excellent performance at the ongoing Prime Minister’s Cup cricket in the capital for closed training.

All-rounder Bibek Yadav has made it for the closed camp for the first time, while Krishna Karki, Saurabh Khanal, Shahab Alam, and Ashif Sheikh have returned to the team.

The bilateral T20 series between Nepal and Qatar will be played on February 9, 10, and 12. Nepal will start closed training on February 1.
