Pandey concerned over EC’s decision to issue party registration notice without resolving NCP dispute

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has questioned the rationale behind the issuance of party registration notice without resolving the disputes.

Owing to the disputes of two different factions of the ruling NCP’s claim that theirs is the only authentic NCP, Election Commission had summoned the leaders of both factions to the commission’s office to update the party about the activities done for the election and also to discuss the way forward for the election.

However, Prachanda-Nepal faction had informed the EC in writing that as both chairmen Puspa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal have been out of the Valley to attend the programs set earlier, they would not be able to participate in the discussion till Sunday.

“NCP has been in two factions, how can it be held practical to issue a notice for party registration without resolving the NCP dispute?” NCP Prachanda Nepal faction’s leader Rajendra Pandey told the media persons after coming out from the Election Commission.

Party leaders Rajendra Pandey, Lilamani Pokhrel and Mukti Pradhan had gone to the commission on behalf of the Prachanda-Nepal faction to inform their chairman want to join the discussion in EC and the date should be after January 31 only as the latter was busy in prescheduled programs outside the valley till date.
