PM Oli faction urges EC to expedite registration process of parties

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prime Minister KP Oli faction has urged the Election Commission (EC) to expedite the process of party registration.

Leaders of the PM Oli faction of the NCP suggested the EC to expedite the process during a discussion organized by the Commission on Friday.

The EC had called both factions – PM Oli-led faction and Prachanda-Nepal faction — of the NCP to discuss the work done so far in the process of party registration and election preparations.

However, the leaders of the Prachanda-Nepal faction have informed in writing that they would not be able to participate in the discussion as their Chairpersons were out of the Kathmandu Valley.

Meanwhile, leaders of the Oli faction, including Bishnu Poudel and Subash Nemwang participated in the discussions with EC officials at Kantipath.

The leaders suggested the EC to expedite the process as the Supreme Court has not issued an interim order.

Nemwang informed that “the commission has promised to hold the elections on time if the apex court does not order otherwise.”
