GALKOT: As many as eighty-six journalists and some media houses were benefitted by the mobile camp set up by the Department of Information and Broadcasting at Baglung.
The camp organized in coordination with FNJ Baglung chapter provided service to the journalists from Dhaulagiri area. The two-day camp provided the services as conferral and renewal of press accreditation card, online registration and permanent registration of newspapers, according to Section Officer at the Department, Suman Bhattarai.
In the event, 80 journalists got the press accreditation cards while six got renewal. Similarly, 11 online news portals and a newspaper were registered permanently.
The journalists from Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi, Kaski and Mustang districts visited the camp. FNJ Baglung chapter chair Dil Shiris informed that the receipt of press accreditation card will help journalists claim minimum wage and enroll on journalist insurance scheme.
Department Director Suman Bajracharya informed that such mobile camp was organized for the first time at district level. It has eased the working journalists, she added.
