UML General Convention Presidium’s meeting underway



CHITWAN: A meeting of the presidium has kicked off a while ago at the closed-door hall of the 10th National Congress of the CPN (UML) in Sauraha.

The presidium consists of party chairman KP Sharma Oli, vice-chairs Bhim Rawal, Yubraj Gyawali and Asthalaxmi Shakya. Other members in the presidium are party general secretary Ishwar Pokharel, leaders Subas Nembang, Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, and Lalbabu Pandit.

The presidium’s meeting began after Chair Oli finalized the list of 301 central members, including 19 office bearers.

The closed-door session of the national congress is expected to begin after the meeting of the presidium is over.

Leaders said that the closed-door session of the 10th National Congress is likely to announce the name of party’s office-bearers and central committee members.

Today’s closed-door session was scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm but got delayed for hours as leaders are making their efforts to forge consensus for the selection of the new leadership.
