Leadership in all local levels to be selected by today

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center is holding its province conference on December 11, and national conference from December 26-28.

Meanwhile, the leadership in all local levels would be selected by today.

For this, the Maoist Centre has picked representatives by conducting its local level conventions across the country on Saturday.

The processes have been initiated for the selection of new party leadership after completing the inaugural session at most of the local levels.

Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” on Saturday inaugurated the conventions through virtual means from Kathmandu.

Party sources said that the leadership has been elected unopposed in most of the districts’ local levels while some local levels conducted elections to elect the new leadership.

Processes for the selection of new leadership have been initiated in the Kathmandu Valley as well.

Maoist leaders attending the conventions at the local levels said that they were elated after witnessing the active participation of leaders, cadres and citizens in the party’s gatherings.

Leader Pambha Bhusal, who took part in different local levels’ conventions in Lalitpur, said that a new wave has been created in favor of the party.

The party on Saturday held 776 local-level conventions including 753 local levels, the party’s liaison coordination committees and special committees.
