ANFA head coach Almutairi’s term extended for 3 years

KATHMANDU: Nepal national football team head coach Abdullah Almutairi has got his term extended for three years.

Kuwaiti national, Almutairi signed the term extension agreement with the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) following a discussion between ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa and the Qatar Football Association, said Sherpa.

Earlier, Almutairi, who was appointed as Nepal’s head coach for a one year term in April, announced that he was stepping down. So he returned to Kuwait after Nepal played finals under the SAFF Championship against India in Maldives on October 16. In the match, Nepal suffered a 0-3 defeat against India.

He announced his agreement to get his term extended through social media. Almutairi also announced that he would soon make public his next two years’ plan in Nepali football.
