Home Minister for security arrangement, market management during festivals



KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs, Bal Krishna Khand, has directed the subordinate bodies under his ministry to ensure security and market regularity of Kathmandu Valley during the near-coming Bijaya Dashami, Deepawali and Chhath festivals.

Issuing directives to chief district officers, police chiefs and chiefs of traffic divisions of three districts of Kathmandu Valley about festival targeted security arrangements and market management, Home Minister said, “Security arrangement and market management should be made smooth even during festival. The people should not suffer from price hike.”

He also urged them to provide efficient services to citizens, asking them to knock the door of the bodies concerned regarding the issues related with citizens.

“It is necessary to make traffic management smooth and to do away with road potholes”, he said Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Govinda Rijal, Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, Rudra Devi Sharma, Chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Ashok Singh, Chief of Lalitpur Police Range, Kiran Bajracharya, Chief of Bhaktapur Police, Shiva Kumar Shrestha, presented festival-targeted security plan and plan for market management.

Likewise, Chief of Metropolitan Traffic Division, Janak Raj Bhattarai, presented traffic management action plan.

Home Minister Khand urged them to pay attention to put the plan in practice, asking employees and police officers to support in this task.
