Dozens of houses waterlogged in Siraha



SIRAHA: More than two dozen of houses in different places of Siraha district have been waterlogged due to incessant rainfall.

More than a dozen of houses of Betauni of Golbazaar municipality-12 have been inundated when the flooded water sneaked into the village breaking the embankment of a pond following the incessant rainfall.

Locals have been taking shelter at neighbor’s houses after swollen pond water submerged their settlement, said Sanjay Mandal, a local.

Similarly, the flooded Mainabari rivulet has inundated two houses at ward no 9 and also caused damages to a Madarasa.

Chief District Officer, Pradeep Kandel, said that incessant rainfall has collapsed a house at Dhangadhimai municipality-1 in the district.

Similarly, dozens of shops at Maichaiya have also been waterlogged.
