KATHMANDU: CPN -UML Chairman KP Oli has termed the split as a “leaf falling off a tree”.
Madhav Kumar Nepal’s newly formed CPN -Unified Socialist Party got formal recognition at Election Commission on August 25. The party was formed by splitting CPN-UML.
Speaking at a program organized by UML’s Bhaktapur Committee on Saturday, party Chair Oli referred the party split as a mere falling off of few leaves from the tree.
“One or two leaves turn yellow and fall off. New shoots sprout forth from the tree. Young people and women are joining the party now. New shoots sprout forth,” he said, adding, “The disjoining of 55 central members and 29 MPs from the UML would not have any effect.”
He accused leader Nepal of embarrassing the country and dividing the UML at the interest of foreigners.
‘No matter how much I tired, I didn’t get over it. I called for the 20th time, went wherever I was called 8 times, and reminded him,” the UML Chair said, adding, “However, blinded by the alien interest, the party is split at the foreign interests.”
He alerted the party cadres of the possibility of forming alliance against UML in the coming election and instructed the cadres to prepare for the election from now.
