Madhav Nepal not proposed for PM, Oli says

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made it clear that leader Madhav Kumar Nepal was not proposed for the post of Prime Minister.

At a program organized on the occasion of 70th birth anniversary of late Madan Kumar Bhandari on Monday, UML Chairman Oli said that Madhav Kumar Nepal is just a minor cadre of Prachanda. Oli also argued that there was no ground on the statement that leader Nepal was proposed for the premiership.

In a press meet organized by the opposition parties, leader Nepal had said that he received an offer of PM but he would not be tempted from such offer but would back Sher Bahadur Deuba’s candidacy for the PM.

On the occasion, PM Oli claimed that leader Nepal used to make statements to devalue Madan Bhandari and leader Nepal took an opportunistic approach about the late leader Bhandari. PM Oli was of the view that leader Nepal enjoys being flattered and these days NC President Deuba and Maoist Chairman Prachanda are doing the same.

Oli also said that leader Bhandari by the name itself is an ideology, a movement, a politically cultured and nation building vision, and added that the responsibility to implement Bhandari’s ideas is yet to be fulfilled. RSS
