Sudurpaschim Pradesh Assembly endorses budget by majority



DHANGADHI: The Sudurpaschim Province Assembly endorsed the fiscal budget by a majority on Monday.

The budget of Rs 30.33 billion presented by the state government for the fiscal year 2078/79 BS was passed by a majority in the state assembly meeting Monday morning amid disagreement between the main opposition Nepali Congress, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and UML’s Oli faction.

The budget has been endorsed by the CPN-Maoist Center government with the support of the CPN-UML’s Madhav Nepal faction.

The budget was endorsed in the 53-member Surdurpaschim Provincial Assembly with the support of 13 members of the CPN-Maoist Center and 17 members of the CPN-UML Madhav Nepal faction.

The remaining 12 members of the Nepali Congress, seven members of the CPN-UML KP Oli faction and two members of the Janata Samajbadi Party have opposed the budget.
