India’s COVID-19 cases plumetting

NEW DELHI: Southern neighbor India has witnessed a sharp decline in the number of COVID-19 infection cases, of late.

India recorded 46,643 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 30,278,963.

Earlier, the daily infection cases had reached up to 400,000.

Currently, 579,942 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and hospitals. Meanwhile, 29,302,260 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in India has crossed the 396,700-mark.

With 981 deaths in a single day, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 396,761, according to the latest figures collated by the Worldometers.

Broken out in Wuhan City of China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed 3,938,556 and infected 181,848,493 globally until the filing of this news.
